Toyin Lawani epidural side effects

Fashion entrepreneur Toyin Lawani opens up about her spine degeneration, linking it to epidural injections she received during childbirth

Renowned Nigerian fashion and beauty entrepreneur Toyin Lawani has shared her ongoing health struggles, revealing that she is suffering from a degenerating spine. Lawani attributed her condition to the epidural injections she received during the birth of her last two children.

In a video posted on social media on Tuesday, the 42-year-old mother of three expressed her frustration over the long-term effects of the procedure, claiming that doctors do not adequately inform women about its potential risks.

Reflecting on her experience, Lawani disclosed that she has not felt like herself since undergoing the procedure. She described her ongoing struggles, including chronic back pain, difficulty standing for long periods, and even episodes of paralysis.

*”When you hear ‘epidural,’ run,”* she warned. *”Doctors tell you about the side effects but do not tell you about the long-term effects on your body. I have about three friends having the same issues that I am having.”*

*”I have a degenerating spine. I have implants in my spine. I go paralyzed. I can’t stand for a long time. I can’t even breathe properly sometimes because it affected so many things in my body when I had the surgery.”*

Epidural anaesthesia is commonly used to manage labour pain, but Lawani’s revelation has sparked renewed conversations about its long-term effects. She recounted how, despite giving birth naturally to her first child, she opted for epidurals for her last two deliveries, particularly because she had to undergo surgery.

*”They will not tell you because you just want the pain to go away,”* she lamented. *”See, the pain does not stop. My back is killing me and my spine is degenerating.”*

Lawani’s testimony has ignited discussions about maternal healthcare, with many women sharing similar experiences of prolonged back pain and complications following epidural administration.

Paul Nwokocha marriage controversy

Gospel singer Paul Nwokocha’s second marriage to Goodness Nwokocha has ended, with allegations of infidelity and mistreatment surfacing

Popular Nigerian gospel singer Paul Nwokocha has reportedly parted ways with his second wife, Mrs. Goodness Nwokocha, less than two years after their marriage.

Nwokocha, who tied the knot with Goodness in September 2023 following the separation from his first wife, Alice Nwokocha, is now embroiled in controversy over the failed union.

According to a family source who spoke to journalist Promise Uzoma Okoro, cracks in the marriage began in May 2024, with allegations that Goodness was subjected to ill-treatment by the singer.

The source revealed that Goodness had no prior relationship with Nwokocha before their marriage and relocated from Lagos to be with him at the insistence of his uncles.

“As of now, the bride price has been returned to the family of Paul Nwokocha, signaling the formal end of the union,” the source confirmed.

Reacting to the reports, Paul Nwokocha accused his estranged wife of infidelity, alleging that she was sending nude photos and videos to other men.

In a viral video, he defended his decision to end the marriage, stating that he would not tolerate such behaviour.

“I have heard so many people talk about my marital problem on social media, and I want to tell you something: If I marry today and I find out that the wife I married is doing abominable things before God and man, I will send her out of my house,” he declared.

The gospel singer dismissed critics who sympathised with Goodness, insisting that he would never condone unfaithfulness.

“I married a wife, not a whore. So, I owe nobody an apology for this. Stop calling me names,” he said.

The public fallout has sparked intense debate on social media, with fans divided over the accusations and the singer’s response.
