Star Actress, Iyabo Ojo Celebrates 25 Years On Stage Amidst Arguments In The RHoLagos

We were all prepped for chaos as the previous The Real Housewives of Lagos episode preview promised an eventful showdown.

Celebrating Iyabo Ojo’s 25-year reign in Nollywood, she decided on a luxurious 3-day getaway at Epe Resort & Spa with the ladies. But, as we’ve come to expect, where there are Housewives, there’s bound to be drama!

First on the agenda? A sizzling ‘stripper night’ – a nod to Iyabo’s new movie where she plays a stripper named Tiannah, side-eye, we see you, Iyabo.

All was going well, with the ladies putting on their best stripper outfits and personas, Mariam even dubbed herself Sequina for the night. However, the night took a sharp left turn when Laura, who has a history of being MIA at Iyabo’s events, was notably absent.

Chioma, trying to be a peacemaker, had invited Laura despite Iyabo’s reservations. Chioma offered to call Laura and Mariam jumped in, questioning why Faith couldn’t, igniting the flame of the drama.

The ladies recalled Faith’s hesitation to call Laura during Chioma’s Yard Sale in episode two, leading them to question the authenticity of Laura and Faith’s friendship.

An intense back-and-forth between Faith and Mariam ensued, filled with quick quips and pointed jabs – “public toilet,” “racoon,” “Is she intelligent?” and “chimpanzee” remain notable.

As the drama escalated, even the hostess Iyabo got involved. Surprisingly, Faith Morey remained composed during the argument delivering one of the most iconic lines of the series yet, “I’m an Ikwerre girl, I need more than 10 of you to take me down!”

Despite the dramatic twists, Iyabo’s 25-year journey in the film industry remains commendable; while she intended to mark the significant milestone, the evening wrapped up on a tense note than planned.

T20Luxury accuses Mercy Aigbe of flaunting a fake Louis Vuitton handbag and questionable eyewear, urging the actress to avoid counterfeit goods

Popular luxury detective page, T20Luxury, has called out Nigerian actress Mercy Aigbe for allegedly flaunting a fake Louis Vuitton (LV) Capucines handbag and questionable eyewear in her recent social media posts.

T20Luxury, known for identifying counterfeit luxury items, shared a picture of the actress on Instagram and advised her to refrain from purchasing counterfeit products.

In the post, the luxury detective company pointed out that Aigbe’s handbag was not an authentic LV Capucines, a high-end designer bag. They also raised doubts about the authenticity of her eyewear.

“Dear Mercy Aigbe, this is NOT a genuine LV Capucines. Even the authenticity of the eyewear is questionable,” the post read.

Acknowledging that celebrities like Aigbe often rely on stylists or personal shoppers to curate their wardrobes, T20Luxury urged the actress to be mindful of the negative impact counterfeit goods can have on creativity and the fashion industry.

“We recognise that, as a celebrity, you may depend on the expertise of a stylist or personal shopper to curate your wardrobe and accessories.

However, we trust that you understand the negative impact of counterfeit goods on creativity, particularly given your influential role within the creative industry. We encourage you to conduct due diligence when hiring a stylist,” the post continued.

This comes shortly after T20Luxury also called out comedian AY Makun for similar allegations regarding counterfeit luxury items.

With this public call-out, T20Luxury is once again shedding light on the issue of counterfeit goods, especially among high-profile individuals, and urging celebrities to make more conscious choices when it comes to their fashion and accessories.

During his appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Kosoko revealed that some actresses join the movie industry with the sole intention of using sexual relationships to advance their careers.

Addressing the sensitive topic, Kosoko asserted that while the concept of sex for roles has been widely discussed, he believes that it is not always the case that directors and producers impose such conditions on actresses.

He went further to suggest that there are women who deliberately enter the industry with plans to use such means to climb the fame ladder.

Kosoko stated, “If I said I need you to warm my bed so that I can give you a role, and you said no, they cannot force you to do it. And if you want that role by all means, that means you want to dance to his tone.”

He made it clear that while he does not condone the idea of using such tactics to get ahead, he felt it was ultimately the choice of the individual involved.

He continued, “I’m not saying it’s right to have introduced that to you, but if you fall for it, that’s your own business. How does that concern the whole world? All this sex for roles thing, forget about it.”

In a more explosive revelation, the actor revealed that he knew of several actresses, some of whom are popular in the industry, who had entered Nollywood with the intention of gaining fame through sexual relationships. “I know of even a Magistrate,” Kosoko added, implying that the issue extends beyond the film industry.

Kosoko’s comments have reignited the debate about the prevalence of sex for roles within Nollywood. While many have been quick to condemn such practices, others have pointed out that it is a reality that some actresses face in the entertainment world.

However, the veteran actor insists that the power dynamics involved in these situations are often more complicated than they seem and cannot be simplified as merely an issue of coercion by male directors and producers.
