The cancer story began with what she described as a seemingly harmless lump in her left breast, which she initially ignored before it gradually worsened and led to more serious health concerns.

In the video, Jummai Joseph explained that her decision to speak openly was driven by repeated questions from followers and a desire to help others who might be facing similar experiences without clarity or support.

“Before cancer, life was normal. I was working, creating, taking care of my children, and just living day by day,” Jummai Joseph said, reflecting on how unexpected the diagnosis was.

She recounted how the lump, which was initially painless, became larger and more uncomfortable over time, accompanied by symptoms including shortness of breath and persistent headaches that significantly affected her daily life.

Jummai Joseph noted that a strong internal prompting eventually led her to seek medical attention, a decision she described as pivotal in beginning the process of diagnosis and treatment.

“I couldn’t walk two steps and not gasp for air. It was bad,” she said, adding that many women often prioritise other responsibilities over their own health, sometimes to dangerous effect.

The Jummai Joseph cancer journey story also carries a public health message, as she urged individuals to pay attention to unusual changes in their bodies and consult medical professionals promptly rather than delaying action.

In addition to sharing her diagnosis, Jummai Joseph revealed plans to document her experience in stages, including treatment, challenges, and sources of strength that have sustained her through the process.

Beyond her health journey, Jummai Joseph is a longstanding figure in Nollywood, having entered the industry in 1995 and gained recognition during the home video boom with roles in films such as Onome, Blood Money, and Oracle.

She later expanded into production and now leads Kleen Image Pictures, where she focuses on creating opportunities within the industry.
