Kizz Daniel music industry advice

Kizz Daniel advises fellow artists to focus on their craft rather than chasing number 1 songs on streaming platforms.

Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has advised his colleagues in the music industry to stop chasing number 1 spots on streaming platforms.

In a recent post, he urged artists to focus on perfecting their craft rather than being obsessed with streaming numbers, stating that many chart positions are influenced by social media algorithms that may not be reflected across all platforms.

“Leave social media algorithms, focus on your craft. Have you ever heard of a guy called Killer Mike? Guess not… 4 times Grammy winner,” Kizz Daniel wrote, encouraging fellow artists to stay true to their music.

He also clarified his stance on the use of bots to boost streams, acknowledging that it’s a legitimate form of marketing, but emphasized that it’s not necessary for established artists.

He added that his advice was not a criticism but rather a push for rising artists to release their work confidently, without worrying about the initial traction it may or may not gain.

“Farming isn’t a crime, it’s marketing… for placement and all… But na for who get the money,” he said. “We ain’t shading anybody here before una start, just tryna push the new generation to drop those hidden gems… I don learn.”
