Speaking on the Jay On Air podcast, Ejoor disclosed that he was diagnosed with clinical depression 14 years ago and at one point tried to end his life on several occasions, including a terrifying moment in the UK when he walked into the path of a moving car.

The actor revealed that his struggles began in childhood when he felt unloved and isolated, believing at one point that his own father hated him.

“I didn’t think anybody liked me. I didn’t think anything was going well for me,” he said.

Despite appearing in Nollywood films, Ejoor described silently battling feelings of worthlessness, saying he saw himself as a “terrible child” who lacked recognition and support.

He added that depression made him lose hope for the future:

“The worst question you could ask me was my five-year goal. I didn’t even want to be alive tomorrow,” he revealed.

Although he initially ran from his diagnosis, Ejoor said he eventually decided to share his story publicly after encouragement from a friend. The response, he explained, has been overwhelming.
