Nigerian artists Grammy 2026 submissions revealed, with Wizkid leading entries, followed by Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and others seeking global recognition

Nigerian artists Grammy 2026 submissions have been unveiled, showcasing a strong representation of Nigeria’s top talents in the upcoming global music awards season.

Grammy monitoring platform, The Grammy Guru, recently released a list of songs and albums submitted by Nigerian acts for consideration at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Leading the pack is Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, who recorded the most submissions among Nigerian artists. His album Morayo was entered for Album of the Year and Best Global Album categories.

Wizkid’s soulful single Piece of My Heart was submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance.

He also directed and submitted Kese (Dance) for Best Music Video, while his collaboration with Olamide and Darkoo, Billionaires Club, was submitted in the Best African Music Performance category.

Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy also made strong entries, submitting his latest album No Sign of Weakness for both Album of the Year and Best Global Album.

His single Love was entered for Best African Music Performance, while his international collaboration with French artist Joé Dwèt Filé, Kampé III, was submitted for Best Global Music Performance.

Rising global star Ayra Starr joined the race with her single Hot Body, which she submitted for Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Her joint track with Wizkid, Gimme Dat, was submitted for Best African Music Performance and Best Music Video.

The Recording Academy will shortlist and vote for the nominees in the coming months, with official nominations set to be announced in November 2025 ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards.

In a related development, Afrobeats icon Davido has joined the Recording Academy as a voting member, marking another milestone for Nigerian representation in global music governance.

With these submissions, the Nigerian artists Grammy 2026 submissions reflect the growing influence of Afrobeats and Nigerian creativity on the international stage.
