Speaking at an event organised by the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) to celebrate filmmaker Toyin Abraham’s box office achievement, Olori Ogunwusi said the movie had a deeper emotional impact on her than she initially expected.

She explained that she had watched the film during a moment of rest with her daughter in a private family cinema and became fully engaged from beginning to end, noting that the storyline resonated strongly with her personal experiences as a mother.

According to her, the film went beyond entertainment and served as a reflective tool that made her reconsider how she balances personal responsibilities with family life.

“The movie isn’t just entertainment. It gave me the time to reflect on my family, my children across the world. I started calling them, telling them, ‘I’m not too busy for you,’” she said.

Olori Ogunwusi added that the emotional depth of the film inspired her to become more intentional about maintaining consistent communication with her children, despite her busy schedule.

She further praised filmmaker Toyin Abraham, stating that the production carries a powerful message for parents and religious audiences, describing it as a “wake-up call” that encourages stronger family bonds.

The event also featured recognition for Toyin Abraham, whose film Oversabi Aunty recently crossed the N1 billion mark at the Nigerian box office, a milestone described by organisers as a major achievement for Nollywood and a sign of its growing global influence.
