Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has announced the tragic death of his newborn daughter, Omayinuwa Harriet, who passed away barely a day after her birth.

Patrick Doyle disclosed the development in a statement shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, revealing that the child died on Saturday at approximately 4:15 pm, after being born the previous morning.

“Omayinuwa visited us briefly at about 10:40 am on Friday 10th April and returned to heaven on Saturday 11th of April at about 4:15 pm,” Patrick Doyle wrote, capturing the depth of the family’s grief.

The actor described the brief life of the child as one that brought immense joy despite its painful brevity.

“Her stay was short but it brought great joy with it. We would have wished for a longer stay, but alas, heaven thought otherwise,” Patrick Doyle added.

Maintaining a tone of faith and resilience, Patrick Doyle expressed belief in divine will, stating that his trust in God remains unwavering despite the devastating loss.

The newborn was Patrick Doyle’s daughter with his wife, Funmilayo, marking a deeply personal and emotional moment for the family.

Just a day earlier, Patrick Doyle had shared news of the birth, noting that both mother and child were in good health at the time.

The heartbreaking announcement has since drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans, colleagues, and members of the Nigerian film industry, many of whom have taken to social media to offer condolences and support.
