Ray Emodi explained that music has been his calling since childhood, long before he pursued acting.

“I never quit acting. I stopped acting to focus on what my calling is, which is music. You get me?” he said.

He revealed that he has been writing and recording music since his primary school days, attending international schools in Enugu and later continuing his creative pursuits in Los Angeles.

“When I started acting, I already made music for about 10 years,” Emodi said.

The entertainer also admitted that studying acting at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles was partly strategic, allowing him to obtain a visa to explore record deals in the United States.

“You can’t get a visa to enter America for music school, but you can for acting school,” he added.

Despite facing financial challenges, Emodi maintained his music career while acting, using acting earnings to fund studio time, producers, and music videos.

He stressed that his main goal is making an impact rather than seeking fame.

“But people know me from acting first. Yeah, that’s what gave me the fame. But the fame it gave me, music is going to give me more. And I don’t really care. I care about the impact. Because with the impact comes the fame and the money,” he explained.
