Tonto Dikeh defends her Mother’s Day message to ex-husband Olakunle Churchill, saying he is the only man who gave her a child

Tonto Dikeh has responded to critics who questioned her Mother’s Day message to her former husband, Olakunle Churchill.

The actress had earlier taken to her Instagram story to thank Churchill for making her a mother, describing motherhood as one of the most beautiful parts of her life.

However, the message triggered reactions on social media, with some users accusing her of praising her ex-husband excessively.

Reacting to the criticism, Dikeh said people misunderstood her intention, stressing that Churchill remains the only man who has given her a child, which she believes is enough reason to appreciate him.

“Doing too much? For the only man who has put a child in me? The world is truly a sick place, and I’m grateful. Don’t let your opinions direct me,” she wrote.

The actress also emphasized the importance of maintaining peace through healthy co-parenting for the sake of their child.

Dikeh and Churchill were previously married before their union ended in 2017 after a highly publicized disagreement.

Over the years, both sides traded accusations before eventually resolving their differences and choosing to maintain a peaceful relationship for their child.

Churchill later moved on and married Rosy Meurer in 2021. The couple now have two children together.
