Sarah Martins birthday prayer reflects on resilience, gratitude and faith as the Nollywood actress asks God to preserve her kind heart

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins marked her birthday on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, in Nigeria with a heartfelt reflection on her life, expressing gratitude for her journey and praying that she never loses her kind heart.

Martins shared new photographs alongside a deeply personal message in which she celebrated the different stages of her life and the experiences that have shaped her.

She described herself as a woman who had walked through storms while finding the strength to smile, love, give and keep moving forward.

“Today, I celebrate ME,” Martins wrote.

The actress said she was celebrating every version of herself, including the young girl who dreamed, the woman who endured battles quietly and the woman who found the courage to rise after difficult moments.

Her message also carried a strong note of faith. Martins said she remained grateful for the lessons, closed doors, disappointments and answered prayers that had shaped her journey.

“I am grateful for every lesson, every closed door, every answered prayer, every disappointment that made me stronger, and every blessing that reminded me that God never left my side,” she said.

The birthday reflection comes after a busy period for Martins, who has remained active both in Nollywood and in charitable work.

Martins founded the Sarah Martins Golden Heart Foundation and has been involved in feeding and supporting vulnerable people. In July, she said she had sometimes cooked for as many as 1,000 people using her own money.

Her charitable activities have also brought her into public discussions over how such outreach should be conducted.

In March 2026, Martins responded to a warning from Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, over cooking on public roads, saying she would use the charity kitchen provided for her foundation in future.

On her birthday, however, Martins kept the focus on personal growth and the future.

She said she was choosing “peace over pressure, purpose over perfection, and gratitude over comparison” as she entered a new chapter.

The actress also prayed for genuine happiness, divine protection, good health, greater opportunities, beautiful memories and abundance.
