Popular Nigerian disc jockey and philanthropist, Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has publicly shared her regrets regarding excessive materialism, specifically her former preoccupation with expensive designer footwear.

Taking to her social media platforms, the daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola posted a video showcasing her extensive collection of designer shoes housed in her London residence.

In the candid admission, she also revealed that an even greater number of pairs remain stored away in her properties in Lagos and Dubai.

“This is just my London collection,” Cuppy disclosed to her followers. “I still have more shoes in Lagos and Dubai… it’s crazy. But guess what? All this doesn’t matter in Heaven, and you can’t carry them to your grave.”

DJ Cuppy, who is also recognised for her vibrant personality and numerous charitable endeavours through the Cuppy Foundation, reflected on the evolution of her values and perspective over time.

She openly stated, “I’m not materialistic like I used to be. The amount of shoes or material things you have doesn’t make you a better person.”

This statement signals a significant shift in the popular figure’s outlook, suggesting a move away from valuing material possessions as a measure of worth or happiness.
