Eniola Ajao confirms blogger arrest and jailing over a viral video alleging an affair with Odunlade Adekola, citing defamation and cyberbullying

The actress was criticised in August after footage from the Otun Ekiti burial showed her appearing uneasy after greeting Adekola’s wife. Online users claimed her behaviour suggested guilt, accusing her of being romantically linked to the actor.

Ajao denied the allegation at the time, calling it a malicious attempt to tarnish her image. In a fresh update on Wednesday, she revealed that the blogger behind the clip, Adabasioni Oluwafemi Aseoro, has been charged and jailed for defamation and cyberbullying.

In a post on Instagram, the actress accused Adabasioni of deliberately manipulating the video to fuel false narratives. “He went on to make derogatory and unfounded claims against my person online,” she wrote.

“The video was edited to suit his trolling agenda. I became a subject of ridicule, and I chose to respond with legal action.”

According to her, the blogger was detained for two weeks at Ikoyi Prison after being found guilty under Nigeria’s Cyber Crime Acts.

Ajao described the outcome as justice for character assassination, insisting that the episode should serve as a warning to others spreading falsehoods.

She also posted a video of Adabasioni publicly apologising and pleading with other bloggers to delete the manipulated clip.
