Kehinde Bankole urges Nigerian authorities to take urgent action against kidnappings, calling for stronger security response nationwide

Award-winning Nollywood actress Kehinde Bankole has called on the Federal Government, the Office of the National Security Adviser, and Nigeria’s intelligence agencies to urgently intensify efforts to end the rising wave of kidnappings across the country.

Kehinde Bankole made the appeal in a strongly worded social media post on Wednesday, expressing frustration over what she described as repeated “condolence speeches” while citizens continue to lose their lives to insecurity.

The Kehinde Bankole kidnappings demand highlighted growing public anxiety following a series of abductions and violent attacks reported in different parts of Nigeria.

“It is no longer about why it is happening; it is now simply about lives. Lives are being lost. This should not be our new normal, children running for their lives in 2026,” she wrote.

The actress also addressed claims that rising insecurity may be linked to political sabotage, arguing that such allegations should push security agencies to act with greater urgency and effectiveness.

Even if the kidnappings are part of a smear campaign against the government, Kehinde Bankole said it should compel authorities to respond decisively and coordinate all security institutions to produce results.

She urged the Presidency and security leadership to fully activate agencies such as the Department of State Services, the National Intelligence Agency, and the Ministry of Defence to tackle the situation with urgency.

“Our cry is for something decisive to be done and to be done fast. The people are tired of condolence speeches and need only results,” she added.

Her comments come amid heightened public concern following recent abductions of schoolchildren and teachers in parts of the country, which have further intensified national debates on insecurity and public safety.
