Joseph Aloba Mohbad nurse allegations

Joseph Aloba refutes claims by his late son Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, that he stopped the arrest of the nurse accused in the singer’s death

Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has denied allegations made by his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, that he intervened to protect the nurse accused of administering the injection that allegedly led to his son’s death.

The controversy resurfaced following Wunmi’s interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on 19 February 2025, where she claimed that Aloba had stopped efforts to arrest the nurse involved.

Addressing the claims during a TikTok live session on Tuesday, Aloba insisted he had never met or spoken with the nurse in question.

“I have never set my eyes on the nurse. We haven’t met physically. If I had seen her, it would have been on the internet,” Aloba stated.

“I never had any conversation with the nurse at all. I have never mentioned the nurse since I started narrating what happened to Mohbad that night. I didn’t see any nurse present there, and nobody introduced the nurse to me.”

Aloba’s denial came just hours after a Lagos State Magistrate Court cleared Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and PrimeBoy of any involvement in Mohbad’s death. Meanwhile, the nurse accused of administering the fatal injection is set to face trial.

As the case continues to unfold, the search for justice remains in the spotlight, with fans and family awaiting the outcome of the nurse’s trial.
