Odumodublvck Leads Galaxy Music Awards Nominations with Four Nods

The organizers of the Galaxy Music Awards (GMA) have unveiled the nominations for this year’s edition, and rising Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, is leading the pack with an impressive four nods. His nominations include Best Song of the Year for “Declan Rice,” Artiste of the Year, Best Street Track (“Picanto”), and the Lyricist on the Roll category.

Following closely are Burna Boy and Omah Lay, each securing two nominations. Burna Boy is recognized in the Best Album of the Year and Artist of the Year categories, while Omah Lay competes in the Album of the Year category with “Boy Alone Deluxe.”

Contemporary highlife singer Flavour also receives nominations for Best Artist of the Year and Song of the Year for his track “Game Changer.”

The Album of the Year category is stacked with competitive entries, featuring Magnito (“I Am Dodo”), Idahams (“True Love and Confession”), and Buju (“Sincerely Bnxn”).

In the Artist of the Year category, Burna Boy faces stiff competition from Odumodublvck, Magnito, Omah Lay, Bnxn, and Flavour.

Renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinow contends in the Gospel Artiste of the Year category alongside Ebuka Songs, Moses Bliss, Prinx Emmanuel, Victoria Orenze, and Mr. M and Revelation, among others.

The Galaxy Music Awards, a platform celebrating the achievements of talented musical artists from the South-South/South-East regions of Nigeria, will take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, December 7, 2023. Themed “Our Sound, Our Heritage,” this edition marks the final regional award show, as GMA plans to go national next year.

Past awardees of GMA include Burna Boy, Odumodublvck, Mercy Chinwo, DJ Neptune, Omah Lay, GUC, Chike, Cavemen, and Ric Hassani, among other notable artists.
