Nigerian media mogul Dele Momodu has weighed in on his niece Sophia Momodu’s ongoing custody tussle with music star Davido, providing reassurance that behind-the-scenes efforts are underway to resolve the matter.

The statement was shared via his Instagram on Thursday, 19 February 2026, while Momodu was in Liberia consoling former Vice President H.E. Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor over the death of her only child.

Momodu noted that in Liberia, Davido is “treated as the god of music,” while Sophia Momodu is “loved by ladies to bits,” highlighting the admiration each enjoys internationally.

He revealed that a fan, identified as fashion designer @lorine.doe, even urged him to intervene to settle the disagreements.

“Nothing to worry about. Everything is going to be alright. We are working behind the scenes. Please keep everyone in your prayers,” Momodu wrote, signalling ongoing efforts to mediate between the parties.

During the visit, Momodu described his trip as markedly different from previous visits to Liberia, emphasizing the solemn purpose of consoling Dr Jewel Howard-Taylor.

He also acknowledged the numerous messages he had received from Davido’s fans and supporters of Sophia Momodu, underscoring the public interest in the custody dispute.
