The Nigerian film industry has lost one of its most respected actors. Tom Njemanze Nollywood death has left a deep void among fans and colleagues alike.

The veteran actor passed away on Friday, 18 July, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. His death was confirmed by film producer Stanley Ajemba Chibueze, also known as Stanley Ontop.

In recent months, Njemanze had reached out to the public for help with his medical bills. Videos circulating online showed the actor in critical condition, relying on life support.

Despite the community’s support and fundraisers, he ultimately succumbed to complications related to the illness.

Known for his roles in iconic Nollywood films like Died Wretched, Issakaba, Osuofia in London, and My School Mother, Njemanze was widely celebrated. His performances captivated audiences and earned him a place in the history of Nigerian cinema.

“Tom was more than a colleague; he was family,” said Stanley Ontop. “He inspired a generation of actors and brought authenticity to every role.”
