Yoruba Nollywood loses film practitioner, Sunday Ossai

The Yoruba Nollywood industry has been thrown into mourning once again as they lose one of their own, Sunday Ossai.

The news of his demise was made known by veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, who was one of the first to use the late film practitioner on the first set of his company.

Jide Kosoko revealed that Sunday Ossai was the brain behind the indigenous reversal Film in Nigeria.

Bading him farewell, he praised him for his work in the industry and described the deceased as a foremost movie effect maker.

Taking to his comment section, the likes of Saidi Balogun, Faithia Williams, Toyin Adewale, and Yinka Quadri.

Just last week, the Industry lost another veteran, Akeem Alamutu, who passed in the early hours of September 19, 2023.

Odunlade Adekola, broke the news of his demise, as he urged everyone to embrace a humble existence and to keep in mind that all things will eventually become part of the annals of history.

The likes of Funke Akindele, Shaffy Bello, Jaiye Kuti, Hilda Dokubo, Muyiwa Ademola, and more paid respect to him.

Also this week, the Nigerian movie industry lost a veteran, Yemi Adeyemi popularly known as ‘Suara’.

The veteran, who acted alongside Sola Sobowale in the popular hit TV series, Super Story was said to have died on Sunday, September 24th.

The devastating news was made known by his family in a statement signed by his son, Adetoun Adeyemi on Monday, urging the public to give them some privacy in their time of grief.

The family didn’t disclose the cause of his death but promised to give more details about his burial.

Suara’s death came just a few days after actor and filmmaker, Charles Granville was announced dead. He was said to have died on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

The news was made known by one of Charles’s friends, Umanu Elijah, who announced that the Tinsel star had finally given up the ghost after years of battling a protracted illness.
