Adunni Ade privacy case has reached a significant milestone as the Nollywood actress won her fundamental human rights suit against Polance Media Limited, publishers of Naija News.

The Lagos State High Court ruled in her favour, affirming her constitutional right to privacy.

Justice I.O. Harrison delivered the judgment in suit no. LD/177818MFHR/2024, reinforcing protections under the Nigerian Constitution.

The case stemmed from a false report linking Adunni Ade romantically to Senator Dino Melaye published on NaijaNews.com.

Adunni Ade described the story as “false, misleading, and offensive,” emphasizing it violated her privacy and caused emotional distress. She highlighted the publication’s motive as purely to generate web traffic without her consent.

Celebrating the victory on Instagram, Ade wrote, “I won my case — a false story was published about me, but truth stood tall. This judgment reaffirms that privacy matters — and so does integrity. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied.”

The court acknowledged delays caused by the #EndSARS protests but confirmed that no injustice would result from the extended timeline.

Justice Harrison stated the court remained “fully abreast of the facts and issues raised in the case.”

Adunni Ade also thanked her legal team and hinted at further defamation suits pending, urging those avoiding court papers to prepare for proceedings.

She took a pointed swipe at an unnamed colleague for spreading falsehoods.
