Afrobeats sensation David Adeleke, known as Davido, has revealed that he has never written a curriculum vitae (CV) or searched for jobs in his life.

Born into a family of entrepreneurs, with his father Adedeji Adeleke being a prominent business mogul, Davido had opportunities to pursue a corporate career.

However, he chose to follow his passion for music instead. At the event, he encouraged the audience to chase their dreams, sharing his personal experiences to inspire others.

“I am living proof of a successful person after school. I feel like I should share my experience,” he stated. “I went into the entertainment world after school, but I have friends and siblings who followed traditional paths.

My father has a company and we also run Adeleke University, where students graduate and get recruited.”

Davido elaborated on his educational journey, mentioning that he took a five-year break from his studies to focus on his music career.

“I come from a family where after you go to school, you go directly to work. I was the one who chose another route,” he explained.

He acknowledged the success of his siblings and friends in various fields, contrasting their experiences with his own unique path.

The singer also reflected on the job recruitment process, noting that he had observed how people in Nigeria meticulously detail their CVs, a practice he never engaged in.

Recently, Davido’s father, Adedeji Adeleke, revealed his company, Pacific Energy, contributes approximately 15% of Nigeria’s electricity supply.
