Chidimma Adetshina, Miss Universe runner-up, announces her exit from pageantry, citing trauma, and plans a fresh start in Nigeria.

 

 

Chidimma Adetshina, the Miss Universe 1st runner-up and current Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, has announced her decision to step away from the world of pageantry.

In a candid interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina shared her reasons, describing her experience in the beauty competition world as “traumatic.”

“Finishing in the top 2 [at the Miss Universe competition] is still a shocker for me,” she revealed. “Honestly, I am done. Pageantry was a real traumatic experience for me.”

Adetshina disclosed that her journey in the Miss Universe competition was fraught with challenges, and there were moments when she considered withdrawing entirely.

The pressures and controversies, including her nationality being questioned during her participation in Miss South Africa, left a lasting impact.

Having previously withdrawn from the Miss South Africa contest and subsequently winning Miss Nigeria, Adetshina rose to international fame as the 1st runner-up in the Miss Universe competition.

Despite the accolades, she now seeks a fresh start in her home country, Nigeria.

“I want to focus on myself, establish who I am, and forward my education,” Adetshina stated, adding that she plans to relocate from South Africa.

Fans of the accomplished beauty queen and advocate have expressed support for her decision, wishing her success as she moves on to this new chapter.
