Ruggedman domestic violence stance

Renowned Nigerian rapper and activist Ruggedman has spoken out firmly against domestic violence, declaring that he would never tolerate abuse in any relationship

In a recent interview with TVC, the hip-hop star made it clear that any situation involving physical aggression would immediately mark the end of his relationship.

Ruggedman stressed the importance of setting boundaries and communicating triggers with his partner from the start.

“I always tell any woman I intend to date that if she pushes me to the level where I think of hitting her, then it’s over,” he said.

“For me to want to date someone, it means I’ve told her everything that triggers me. So, if you push that button, you’re poking me. I would rather walk away than hit the person.”

Recalling a past relationship, Ruggedman shared how he ended things after his partner pushed him during a public argument, despite his efforts to resolve the issue privately. He saw this as a clear red flag and chose to walk away rather than let the situation escalate.

The rapper also addressed why some individuals remain in abusive relationships, citing fear of public opinion and personal benefits as common reasons. He urged victims to prioritise their safety and well-being above societal judgment.

“If you die in an abusive relationship, people will still talk,” Ruggedman warned, encouraging people to leave toxic environments before it’s too late.
