Tolani Baj quits US job for Nigeria, revealing she never enjoyed 9–5 life abroad and longed for the joy of living at home

The reality TV personality and former Big Brother Naija housemate disclosed her experience in a Snapchat post on Monday, 15 September 2025. She explained that life abroad, working a regular 9–5 job, was something she never truly enjoyed.

“I hated working a 9–5 in America so bad. I would spend months counting down to Detty December, God abeg,” she confessed.

Tolani said the festive trips back to Nigeria became the highlight of her year, and over time, the idea of returning permanently grew stronger.

“My everyday thoughts — I’m happier in Nigeria, should I just quit my job and move there?” she recalled.

Eventually, she made the bold decision to leave her job in the United States and relocate to Nigeria, a move she described as aligning with her inner happiness.

Her story reflects the growing number of young Nigerians abroad reconsidering the trade-off between financial security overseas and the emotional fulfilment of being closer to home.
