Nollywood actress and Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives on Social Events and Public Hearings, Eniola Badmus, on July 17, 2026, revealed during a red carpet interview in Nigeria that she could not relate to the experience of being broke, sharing her personal perspective on wealth and financial comfort.

The actress made the statement at the premiere of The Return Of Omotara Johnson, where she was asked how she manages periods of financial difficulty and what the concept of being broke means to her.

Responding to the interviewer’s question, “What does being broke mean to you?” Badmus said, “I do not even know the meaning of being broke.”

Her comment quickly attracted attention online, with some social media users discussing her confidence and others debating the wider realities of wealth and financial privilege.

During the same conversation, Eniola Badmus does not know being broke as she explained that true wealth extends beyond having money and includes comfort, fulfilment and the ability to support others.

“When you are comfortable and able to buy whatever you want and also, most importantly, impact on other people’s lives,” she said while describing what being rich means to her.

Badmus added that financial success is connected to having resources that allow people to meet their needs and create opportunities for others.

“When you have money, it means you are successful,” the actress stated.

The actress, who has enjoyed a long career in Nollywood, has frequently attracted public attention for her outspoken personality, lifestyle discussions and involvement in social and public engagements.
