Mosun Filani movie criticism has taken center stage after the Nollywood star received backlash from a fan who disliked her role in Wumi Toriola’s film, Konge.

The critic claimed the performance altered their perception of her. Filani fired back via Instagram, calling out the irony of being hated for acting well.

“Haaaa. Na movie o. If I no act well, na una go complain. I did a good job, now una don dey hate me,” she said.

She stressed that she simply delivered her scripted role, urging viewers to distinguish between fiction and real life.

“Kilo sele gangan. It’s a movie!!! I got the script. Got into character and delivered perfectly… That’s not me in real life.”

Filani encouraged fans to learn from the movie’s message rather than project emotions onto actors.

Her response highlights a recurring issue in Nollywood where actors are judged by the characters they portray—reminding everyone it’s called make-believe for a reason.
