Prophet defends Judy Austin as critics accuse him of false revelation

Prophet defends Judy Austin

Prophet Abel Boma defends Judy Austin, calls out critics for hypocrisy, but fans loyal to May Edochie accuse him of misusing God’s name

Prophet defends Judy Austin in a message that has sparked outrage across social media. The cleric, Abel Boma, founder of the ATB Foundation, declared in an Instagram video that God had sent him a message urging Nigerians to stop judging Judy, who is actor Yul Edochie’s second wife.

Boma claimed that divine revelation exposed widespread hypocrisy among those criticising the Nollywood actress. He urged people to focus on their own lives rather than condemning others. According to him, God’s grace is not bound by public opinion.

He stated, “The Lord is sending a strong message to Nigeria. He is saying to all of you judging a certain woman, Judy, as the second wife of Yul, the Lord is saying let her be.”

The Port Harcourt-based preacher added that many of Judy’s critics were secretly damaging marriages by engaging in infidelity themselves.

He warned them to stop projecting their own flaws onto others. “Some of you have done worse. You do not want people to judge you but look at how you judge her,” he said.

His prophecy was met with sharp criticism from social media users, particularly fans of Yul’s first wife, May Edochie. Known collectively as “May Nation,” the group flooded the prophet’s comment section, accusing him of false prophecy and defending immorality.

One user, @henryumeadi, questioned the divine priority behind the message: “Na wa sha, una don dey too belittle God well well. So God get time for this? In the midst of all the sufferings and killings? Na Yul matter?”

Others accused the prophet of cloaking personal opinion in divine authority. @queenmaynation wrote, “Normalise telling people your personal opinion instead of lying on God. God gives no hoot about those adulterous duo.”

Some, however, expressed support. @alade838 wrote, “Daddy, God bless you sir,” suggesting not all viewers were hostile to the message.

While Boma’s defence of Judy Austin highlighted his view on spiritual compassion, the response showed a deep divide in public perception. For many Nigerians, the idea that God would intervene in such a personal dispute, while global crises unfold, felt misplaced.
