Etinosa Idemudia says acting is tougher than engineering, describing the profession as demanding and often misunderstood outside Nollywood

Etinosa Idemudia acting career has been described by the actress herself as more demanding and mentally exhausting than her previous work as an engineer.

Speaking on the Bold Enough To Say It podcast, the Nollywood star opened up about the struggles and pressures that come with life in front of the camera.

“I have been an engineer and I have been an actor. No offence to my colleagues in the engineering world, but I dare say that being an actor is much more tasking,” Idemudia said. “It’s a crazy kind of work. It’s a mad person’s work.

Don’t let those people that close by 5pm come and insult us.”

The actress noted that many outsiders underestimate the discipline, emotional energy, and sacrifice involved in acting, adding that the profession often requires long, unpredictable hours and intense creative focus.

Etinosa, who holds a degree in Engineering from Covenant University, made a successful transition into Nollywood and has since become one of its most recognisable faces.

Her comments shed light on the mental and physical demands of the industry, where actors must constantly embody new roles and adapt to changing production conditions.
