In a trending online interview, Otolo discussed the widening pay gap between older and younger actors, citing Chatta as an example of how market value and visibility have shifted in Nigeria’s film industry.

“If Ibrahim Chatta appears on a movie set, he has been paid ₦5 million. That’s the amount he currently charges. He is the highest-paid actor presently,” Otolo disclosed.

He added that while Chatta can feature in multiple projects each month, many veteran actors still earn between ₦250,000 and ₦300,000 and often struggle to fund cinema productions.

“You can’t compare him and other young actors to some of us that are being paid between ₦250,000–₦300,000 and appear in just one or two films in a month.

That’s why it’s difficult for some of us the veterans to produce cinema movies,” he explained.

Otolo also revealed that Chatta recently starred in his new movie, Jigi, filmed in Ogbomoso, further confirming the actor’s growing demand and influence.

The revelation has since sparked conversations across social media, with fans and industry insiders hailing Chatta’s hard work, versatility, and consistency as reasons behind his soaring success.
