“I’m more than baby mama” – Jada Pollock speaks on her professional achievements

Jada Pollock, the powerhouse talent manager behind Afrobeats sensation Wizkid, is challenging the societal narrative that reduces her to the title of “baby mama.” In a recent interview with BET UK, Jada voiced her frustrations about being overlooked as a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman.

Recalling an incident after Wizkid’s Grammy win, Jada shared, “I wrote a statement celebrating Afrobeat’s progress, but when it was published, the headline read, ‘Wizkid’s baby mama.’ It’s disappointing to see my hard work erased by that label. I’m not just a mother; I’m a manager who has been instrumental in building a legacy.”

Jada stressed the importance of recognizing women for their professional contributions, noting the critical role she’s played in shaping Wizkid’s career and the global success of Afrobeat.

“I’ve worked tirelessly to make a difference in this industry, and it’s time women like me are acknowledged beyond their personal relationships,” she said.
