Omoni Oboli Ghana TV piracy outrage. Actress threatens legal action against Ghanaian stations airing her films without licenses

Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli, has voiced her strong condemnation of Ghanaian television stations for allegedly airing her movies without obtaining the necessary licenses. She has also criticized the Ghana National Film Authority for their perceived inaction on the matter.

In a fiery post on her Instagram page on Saturday evening, Oboli expressed her frustration and vowed to pursue legal action against the offending stations. She emphasized the hard work and dedication that go into producing her films, highlighting the issue of intellectual property theft.

“I love my Ghanaian besties, colleagues, and friends, but you see those TV stations in Ghana, I’m coming for you! The guts to show my movies without licensing! If dem no arrest one of una, you won’t learn! Watch out! Coming for every one of you!” Oboli wrote.

She further stated, “You have no idea how much work goes into these projects. The sleepless nights I have! I’m coming for it all! You will pay for every one of my movies you have shown without permission! In 2025, you don’t understand that’s IP theft?!!!”

Oboli questioned the effectiveness of the Ghana National Film Authority, suggesting that the lack of enforcement has emboldened the TV stations.

“Maybe you don’t have a television authority in Ghana, but that is not my concern! Coming for you all! Clowns! Thanks to my Ghanaian besties for always sending me screenshots,” she added.

The actress’s outburst underscores the ongoing issue of piracy within the African film industry, where unauthorized broadcasting of content can significantly impact filmmakers’ revenue and creative rights.

Her threat of legal action serves as a strong warning to those involved in such practices. The **Omoni Oboli Ghana TV piracy** accusations have now gained a lot of attention.
