“Research the individual or company thoroughly. Ask for references. Review their previous work. Confirm their digital footprint and professional history.”

The actress noted that both men and women can be victims, advising entertainers to avoid private or isolated meetings, especially early in their careers, and to involve a trusted third party or representative when possible.

She outlined key red flags, including absence of verifiable track records, lack of professional media presence, pressure to act secretly or urgently, requests for secluded meetings, and unprofessional communication.

Etinosa Idemudia also condemned victim-blaming culture, highlighting that it discourages survivors from speaking out.

She urged authorities, industry regulators, and community leaders to create safer systems that protect survivors while ensuring objective justice.

“Victim blaming is harmful and discourages people from speaking up. No one deserves violence, and responsibility always lies with the perpetrator,” she said.

“At the same time, proper investigation is important and must be handled professionally and sensitively.”
