Veteran Nollywood actor Tito Harrison has shared the heartbreaking story of his struggle with liver disease and chronic ulcer, revealing the devastating impact the health crisis had on his life, leaving him bedridden and financially bankrupt.

In an emotional interview on Biola Bayo’s podcast, Harrison disclosed the extent of his financial woes, stating that he was compelled to sell his house, cars, and personal belongings to meet escalating hospital bills. Ultimately, he and his wife were forced to move into her mother’s house after they could no longer afford their rent.

The actor, renowned for his roles in numerous classic Yoruba films, expressed profound gratitude for his wife, whom he credited as his unwavering pillar of strength throughout the difficult ordeal.

“When I was battling with liver disease and a chronic ulcer, my wife stood by me when everybody left me. It is good to have a good wife,” he said with emotion. “If I come to this world again, it is my wife I will marry.”

Harrison also voiced his disappointment with the Nollywood community, lamenting that instead of offering support, some of his colleagues publicly ridiculed his condition.

“There was a time they interviewed someone, and he said, ‘Tito Harrison is finished. He’s now living in his wife’s mother’s house.’ Even if it’s true, must you say it? If you can’t rally around me, at least don’t destroy my name.”
